Welcome to the WWW where I post a summary of the past week’s goals and milestones. Every week features the same format including net calories, weekly weigh-in, and how I fared meeting current fitness goals such as using a food diary.

Let’s see…another week and more travel. I was on the road for two days, and the workout schedule took a hit like clockwork.  Even still, I made some decent decisions on food choices.

Calories In < Calories Out

Again, I came in at a slightly negative calorie deficit this week coming in at -1660cal. This week I logged ~1086cal of exercise. Remember – the goal I’m working on here is to clock in at least 1000 cal of burn per week. Why 1000 cal you might ask? The logic’s probably flawed but you need about a 3500 cal deficit to lose one pound. Right now, I’m trying to save about 300 cal per day so if you add in another 1000 cal per week in exercise you get close to the magical 3500cal mark ( [300 x 7] + 1000 ~ 3100). But, the real question is does that actually work??? Am I Iosing weight??

RunningAfterBaby weight loss progress If you look at the progress chart, you can see I’ve fluctuated a bit, but essentially staying flat.  ARGH!!  To make that dip down more, I’m of the mindset it can only be accomplished by increasing the output.

Looking at the chart did make me ask one more question…are my weight loss goals reasonable?  I know in my head what I’d LIKE to weigh, but maybe that’s not realistic to get back to pre-baby weight.  I’ll try to follow up on this a little more in a different post, but even by BMI standards (see this article on BMI/what you ‘should’ weigh) I still need to drop ~13% weight.  Whatever the metric, I’d just be happy if I didn’t see such a plateau in my weight loss efforts.

On track or off the wagon…

ON TRACK – Two for two…feels like it’s been two good weeks in a row despite difficult or challenging schedules. Plus, I ran for more than a mile for the first time in a LOOOONNGG time with no heel pain!!!! Rest has been critical but investing in a real shoe fitting and appropriate shoes (thanks Fleet Feet Sports) seems to be paying off!!

Until next week….make it a great one!!
